Like a beacon in the night for weary travelers, the Shilo Inn stands alone atop the neon-perimetered budget lodging properties in the greater Spokane, WA / Coeur D'Alene, ID metro.
When I realized that THIS is where my client booked me for a couple nights, I almost slept in the car.

There must be something about the Pacific Northwest. I once stayed at a Phoenix Inn in ALbany, OR. Not much to it, except the HUGE porn shop, flashing lights including visible from almost every room, and an abutting parking lot. Very nice.
