Discarded Southie Street Markers

Usually come January or February, the random litter on the streets of Southie tends to pile up due to the lack of street cleaning until April 1st. This year, we are a bit early to the party.

Pizza boxes and lottery tickets are one thing....

But vacuum cleaners are another....

As are utility pails....

And playsets for children....

And camping chairs....

And the effective mail bin / cardboard box combo...

I realize another storm is set to hit this week, but my fellow Southie neighbors, can we please bring our space markers back inside of our basements in between storms?

Actually, most of the newer residents probably went home for the holidays before the snow melted.
Not a shot at you, but do people just stop picking up after their dogs when it snows? The sidewalk sh*t factor has been through the roof lately. Also, I'm the guy that said I wouldn't mind someone putting their dog waste bag in my barrel that hasn't yet been picked up on trash day. Here's one I don't like, putting it in my barrel that marks my parking spot. 20 bags of dog shite + snow + warmer weather = smelly brown soup. I will never use an uncovered barrel again.

I noticed the same thing about the poop, and it's especially terrible when there is a thin pathway carved in the snow, and there is dog poop on it!

I always pick up after Rosie, and actually like the snow because she loves doing her business on it.

And yes...uncovered trash bins just left out and about are magnets for poop bags. They become very hard to resist for some owners. I like using a plastic storage crate / milk crate-type spot saver.

Those are some GREAT photos!!

Maybe tomorrows snow can cover most of the debris and grime! LOL!
